recorded in early 2016 at seven ravens studios
still standing at the end of town,
a pessimistic sun is going down.
in the gathering darkness appears a sea of lights,
surrounded by smoke from the back parlours pipes.
is home where your heart is?
thursday morning, 3 a.m,
in a kiosk some faceless men,
sit and drink to drop,
the faults no one can understand.
near the bucket at the edge,
a cat is singing its bluesy lay,
derranged by an old man,
who's looking for deposit bottles.
thats the crux of the matter,
and everyone knows everyone.
boring, strange, embittered,
narrow-minded, frosty, shivering.
i wish i could tell something beautiful but i can't.
i want to put this town behind myself.
